It is free, but it asks you to upgrade if you are intending to use “Royale” effects, which are denoted by a crown in the corner of the effect name.

If you click on the “Let us know” link at the way way bottom of the help page (http://help.picmonkey.com) you can really help by telling us how it looked to you. When you send the form, it automatically tells us which operating system and browser you are using, which is a BIG help in identifying problems.

I love you guys, but the new ads you have on the save photo page are not a welcome addition. In fact, they cover the save photo and cancel buttons, so I have to close/reload the page and start over. btw, I use a notebook, so the screen is small.
Pretty soon we’ll offer a “Royale” subscription, which will be ads-free, in case you’re interested. I am having that problem also, after i save one photo the next one when i go to save is blocked by the ads! Is this going to continue?? I would rather pay for it that have to deal with that every time.

I am having the same problem as Kelly! Used the site yesterday AM to edit 3 pictures, by last night when I was looking to edit more pics, I cannot save anything. Still the same today! ;( Also, no error messages, just sits there. I absolutely LOVE this site, but hoping this gets resolved ASAP!

Love it if we could save the collages/photos to true print sizes…5×7 4×6 etc…it would be great for printing! Love picmonkey!!
You can make your collage exactly the print size you want, if you type in the correct pixel dimensions for that size. We have a handy dandy chart with those details. Go to help.picmonkey.com, and click on the article “Best photo sizes for printing” in the Feature Help section. There’s also an article called “Collage Re-size How-to” that tells you how to input new pixel dimensions.
There has got to me away to edit a ‘batch’ of photos and not have to go back and call up each one from it’s file…..it takes to long, HELP?? Thank you!!

I’m using Safari on a Mac and can’t scroll through anything on the site. It’s as if my mouse is broken. It’s inconvenient because I can’t scroll to zoom in when I’m editing a photo and I can’t scroll through any effects on the left. It does work on Google Chrome though, but unfortunately Chrome makes my computer really slow. If possible please try to fix whatever problem it is that won’t let me scroll while using Safari. Thank you!!

As to the Royale premium fonts, it’s true that we’re still in a free trial phase now ’til the end of December. After that, you will see an option to upgrade to membership for permanent access to all the premium features you’re now seeing.

It’s all good though cause there are at least three other free photo editing sites I can think of that are just as good and one is even better. I think it is absolutely riculous that they are charging $4.99 a month. picnik you could choose how to pay. You could pay monthly or by year through picnik. Yes there are some things that are free but everything I use is not free. I am a photographer on the side and I loved using this site but I can not afford $4.99 a month. I can however afford $24.99 a year. That is what I paid on picnik. Picmonkey is just like picnik. You should reavulate your decision about charging people $4.99 a month. You should give people a choice how to pay. Just Saying!!!
Hi guys…LOVE your editing here…but I think at $4.99 a month you might be asking a little too much to be honest. I don’t mind paying for things I use but you are charging more than some full editing software programs out there that allow for batch editing etc….are you sure $4.99/month is a fair price?

I really enjoyed editing my pics here. Now you have upgraded it and I cant use those wonderful effects you’ve had before. I was highly recommending Picmonkey on my blog, but I don’t feel I can do that anymore, now that you are charging a fee for the exact things that used to be free. I can understand creating “royal” upgrades that are new and charging for them, but not charging for things that you were offering free before. The $4.99 price tag seems too high for everyday users. Disappointed.

You had one of the best FREE photo editing sites. I am not a professional photographer or anything I just love to edit my family photos. Now I have to pay for some of my favorite features and the fee is crazy 4.99 a month why don’t you do it cheaper and maybe I would consider paying. Since you’ve made many of your editing options have changed to being charged, when I use the basic editing & get ready to save pic, it looks worse! It’s fuzzy & appears the pixels have changed! I don’t think I’ll be using picmonkey anylonger since they are charging too much & al the “issues”. Does your software make the pics worse to coerce people into wanting to buy or upgrade? This never happened before you weren’t charging for the options.

Most people will not want to have their credit card charged every month. I loved picnik’s price of $24.99 per year. One payment and then forget about it for a year. $59.88 is just too expensive for a full 12 months. I will now be looking for another alternative.

Hi Hanna. Open the group photo, and add place the other photo on top by clicking Overlays, and then “Your Own.” (You’re pretending your photo is an overlay). In the Overlay palette that pops up (the square with the color picker), click “Eraser” and start erasing away everything but his head.

Hi Bernadette. When you hit the “Save” button on the top toolbard, it puts your photos on your computer’s hard drive, usually the “Downloads” folder. If you can’t find it there, contact our Help center here: http://help.picmonkey.com/customer/portal/emails/new

Hi Mandy! You can get a pre-paid credit card at many drug stores and food stores. Just put $33 on it and you can get the annual plan. Or you can buy monthly, but it won’t automatically renew; you’ll have to do that manually every month. OR you can pay with PayPal. Hope one of these works for you!

I used to use PicMonkey at least once a week, favorite photo editor by far . I used this for school, work, and blog. It helped to make my photos truly standout and WOW my audience. But now that I have to pay for pretty much any edit, that isn’t a basic edit on any other site? Really disappointing ): I don’t have a way to pay for this, and as a minor, I won’t be able to pay for this for quite a long time . Very sad to have to find a new place.
Hello, I am very dissatisfied with picmonkey. I would like picnik back. I am not upset at all with the editing features on picmonkey, it is the price of $4.99 a month that I am upset with. I am a photographer and I love this site to do my edting. It is just like picnik but you are charging way more than they did. I paid $24.99 for a whole year to be able to use the site, which I did not mind. you are charging people $96.00 a year to use your premium stuff, which is riculous because you have everything that picnik did. I have my website through wordpress and I know that it is FREE to use. I think we should have a choice on what to pay just like picnik did. You are going to loose customers this way if you you do not change something in the near future. I knew you were going to be charging something but $4.99 a month is out of the qeustion. I love picmonkey but I will go some where else to do my editing.
Okay so I am going to be different! I still love Pic Monkey and will gladly pay the annual fee. It is a wonderful site that is easy to use. If you were a picmonkey user for any amount of time, you should have known that there would be a charge eventually. They have only been saying that since the site was up. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. It is simple. Go buy a program that will be outdated as soon as you buy it or go to one of the free sites! Quit griping and be done with it! Pic Monkey was a light at the end of the tunnel when piknik went dark!! Thanks Pic Monkey!! I still think you are awesome!!

i cant believe you guys are charging now! im SOOOOO dissapointed i used this site to edit all of my babys photos for her baby scrapbook :’c my heart is literally broken first i pay for a year of picnik and they shut down now you guys start charging to! really disappointed with the service, i wouldnt have gotten so attached to your program if i knew youd just take all the good stuff away. i used the beauty effects for so many different things i dont know how im going to edit her pictures now.. and no your free effects arent that great i can do all that stuff on my smart phone with a free app. seriously beyond disappointed.. i think you shouldve just charged from the beginning, i feel like you guys dont really care about your customers its just about the money. why would you advertise that we could use all these great effects for free then charge us? to try and suck us all into buying when some people like me dont have the money. i have to look for 2.75 in change so i can buy my daughter juice at the store you think i have enough money to pay you guys that much every month? yeah its not alot to some people but to me 2.75 is a ride to work, lunch that day, or a jug of milk for my daughter. and that IF i pay the 33 all at once! i havent had 33$ to just spend on what i wanted in almost 2 years. and 4.99 a month? 5 dollars may not seem like alot to most people but an extra 5$ for me means i dont have to worry about getting my daughter to daycare and getting to work that day and i can eat lunch! if someone just came up to me and gave my 5$ a month my daughter would have a new outfit every month and she wouldnt have to wear jammies with the feet cut out. sorry for my little rant but thats how i felt and i would think you would care about you customers.

Anyway, I was wondering . . if you choose the plan of $33 a year; do you pay all $33 at once or do you pay the $2.75 every month?
Also, when it’s time to pay the bill every month do you guys just take the money out automatically? or do we like have to confirm it first, like any other bill?

Hi Daisy. The $33 a year price is available when you buy the whole year all at once. When you are paying for it on a monthly basis, you don’t have to confirm it first, it automatically renews until you cancel your subscription, which you are free to do at any time.

This is most likely ‘not’ the place to write this but I don’t know where else, sooo . . .
I’m a total amateur who stares blankly at ‘serious’ photo-editing software such as Paint, etc. and I wouldn’t even dare look at software such as Photoshop.
So I love the Monkey. Perfect for me. The original fee schedule for Royale annoyed me a tad but when the reduced, fuhgeddaboutit-for-a-year-at-a-time fee came out, I’m good.
My request/suggestion/begging-on-hands-and-knees is for additional actual editing effects to be added, especially – pretty please! – a simple layers tool such as Fotoflexer has. No! PicMonkey blows that F-word editor away, but it has a very simple section for transparent blending, layers, etc.
I want to be able to put an orangutan head on the Donald, just for example. Easily but looking almost professional. . . . And other cool effects such as heat map, etc.
Not so much the cutesy stuff. For me, anyway, the pre-made overlays – happy faces, hearts, lips, buttons – are not important, but perhaps others dig them mucho. For myself, I’m talking about even more options, Royale or not, for additional effects combined with PicMonkey simplicity.

Are my photos saved in a history? In Picnic, loved the feature of being able to go back into my history and continue editing at a later time. Having paid for the Royale subscription, I was sure hoping to see my pics saved somewhere other than my own desktop. Any chance of this coming down the road?

Well when I did my first pic, I used an effect that I simply loved..Tiny stars covering the whole picture, what gave it a fantastic final touch. But…a few days later I started working on a different pic, and when I tried to use the same effect it was gone! Was it removed by you or am I just missed it! I intend to use that several times, so please let me know. Thanks!

I love PicMonkey, used it allready when it was inplemented in Picasa. Sorry if my English is not perfect. What really makes me agry that for the past weeks the is SPAM on de site the minute I want to edit a photo. This means I can not see the top part of my picture to edit!!!! I am a professional Photographer and shoot many pics with models…so I have to edit on the face and figure sometimes. Now with the SPAM I cannot do this properly anymore. Can you please tell me how to get rit of the SPAM!

Hi Kristine. No worries! When you’re signed in, your name appears in the upper right corner. Hover over your name and click on “Account” which shows up underneath it. The “Manage your account” page will pop up and “Cancel membership” appears in blue, towards the bottom of that page. When you cancel a yearly membership before the expiration date, your status as a Royale member stays active until that full year is up. It will show the expiration date and confirm that you have up until that point to use Royale.

Hi Janis. In the upper right corner, there’s a button/link that says “Upgrade.” That’s where you can start the process for getting your Royale account.

Quick question: I have a Royale account, but when I tried to use it on a computer at work I’m not able to log in – it tells me my password is incorrect. I tried multiple times (very carefully) and am confident I am typing it in correctly. Is it possibly because I keep my home computer logged into picmonkey all the time?
